These narrations begin and end for no rhyme or reason. Also, there are three different narrators of the film - Salman Khan (in the beginning and at the end), Satish Kaushik (for the most part) and Pankaj Tripathi (occasionaly). While the story is good, the screenplay doesn't do full justice to the talent on board. On the downside, the movie gets a bit repetitive after the first half and also, the editing should have been tighter. Monal Gajjar, who plays Rukmini, Bharat Lal's wife has a good screen presence and she performs well. Mita Vashisht, Amar Upadhyay, Satish Kaushik, Neha Chauhan and other supporting actors are all first rate. His natural goodness and innocence makes him a perfect choice to play the protagonist. The cinematography is serviceable.Ĭoming to performances, Pankaj Tripathi, who finally gets to play a lead role in a film is outstanding. The movie has been shot on a big level and it adds value to the final product. The production design, barring one stray scene is top notch. The screenplay is tight, though could've been tighter but more on this later. Meanwhile, Monal’s Bollywood debut film, Kaagaz, released recently on Zee5 and received a positive response from all quarters. The story itself is interesting and too weird to be true. Thanks to the popularity she gained for her participation in Bigg Boss Telugu 4, Gujarati actress Monal Gajjar has become a hot favourite among Tollywood filmmakers. Satish Kaushik's direction is deft and he is in full control of the narrative throughout the runtime of the film. It is quite surreal that the last good film he directed was Tere Naam in 2003 starring Salman Khan and now 18 years later he has helmed another terrific film in Kaagaz, which is co-produced by Khan. The starts his struggle of 18 years to prove that he actually alive and not a dead man.ĭirected by Satish Kaushik, who is in his element after almost two decades as a filmmaker. Based on a true story, Kaagaz is about a band master named Bharat Lal (Pankaj Tripathi), who realises that his family members conspired against him for the greed of a piece of land that he owned and he is now been declared dead officially. After a terrific 2020, Pankaj starts the new year with a bang with Kaagaz. No one should miss it.It seems like anything that Pankaj Tripathi touches turns to gold. This is a family entertainer so it can be recommended to see with the family. It’s a satire and we can say that it’s a slap on the system. The screenplay and dialogues are another strength of the film. This story is beautifully written by him only. Once again, he has proved himself as one of the best directors of Bollywood. He has perfectly utilized the actors and other resources to make this a perfect film. The direction of Satish Kasuhik is unbeatable. So, overall music has added the value to the film. Songs are very much relatable with the storyline. The music of Pravesh Mallick, Rahul Jain and CeAzar are quite impressive. In an item song actress Sandeepa Dhar has also impressed the audience with her latke-jhatke. have also justified their presence in the film. Kaagaz movie review: The plot is littered with clichs, and comes off distressingly dated: the evil aunt rolls her eyes, the bad guys swirl their ‘moochch’, the item girl swings her waist, the sarkari cogs-in-the-wheel smirk, and so on. Elsewhere, Monal Gajjar is decent as Rukmanii, while Amar Upadhyay is. The other artists like Amar Upadhyay, Mita Vashisht, Neha Chauhan and Brijendra Kala etc. Despite the fact Kaagaz transpires an outlandish notion. Although Satish Kaushik has not a big role in the film but his dialogues are quite impressive. She is completely fit into this character. On the other side actress Monal Gajjar has also impressed the audience with her outstanding performance. He has impressed the audience with his mind-blowing performance. Talking about the performances, actor Pankaj Tripathi’s performance is simply the best. So, one must see the film to know what happens at the end. Story becomes more interesting and complex towards the climax. He appoints advocate Sadhoram (Satish Kaushik) to fight his case in the court. Now his struggle starts from here to prove himself alive on paper. Since he is declared dead on paper so he can’t take any loan. For that he goes to his native village and there he comes to know about this conspiracy. For a bank loan he was asked to bring the papers of his land that he owns.
